Content Guidelines

Manuscript.Ink is an outlet for written creative works to receive feedback or collaborative editing in a positive-moving setting of maximum inclusiveness. We look to provide a safe space where Members can enjoy contributing to tales and create their own unique stories on their way to whatever form of publication, including works that might be at risk on other sites or not available through traditional tracks due to being deemed immoral, explicit, or otherwise objectionable.

All Member Content on the Site and as part of the Service must comply with the Content Guidelines. If you encounter Member Content that you believe violates these Guidelines, you may report it to us. Grinning Cat does not prescreen any Member Content on the Site.

Plagiarism

The use of someone else's words or their expressions of ideas without attribution is expressly not allowed.

Impersonation

You may not impersonate or misrepresent your affiliation with any person, entity, or function.

Personal Information

You may not create Member Content that contains seemingly accurate non-public information about another individual.

Harrassment

We do not allow any behavior that produces a generally hostile environment for its target. Examples include bullying, threats, and personal attacks by or towards individuals or groups of people.

When judging whether a specific incident or Member Content constitutes harassment and/or when determining the appropriate severity of a penalty, we will consider relevant context. This includes whether the behavior was repeated, targeted, difficult to avoid encountering, or related to a general pattern of harassment by an individual or a group, among other factors. Additionally, submitting repeated and/or baseless complaints, particularly those targeting a specific user or group, may be considered harassment.

In general, threatening Member Content will be considered harassment, while Member Content that is merely rude or annoying will not. Not everyone agrees about what is offensive and unacceptable. Members are encouraged to use tools such as blocking and filtering to control their own environment.

Advocating Harm

Anything that advocates specific, real, harmful actions towards real people is not allowed.

Offensive Content

Unless it violates some other policy, we will not take action against or remove Member Content for offensiveness alone.

Spam

Spamming behavior is not allowed. Repeated identical or nearly identical contributions in multiple places may be considered spam regardless of commercial content.

Public Imagery

Any imagery available in general spaces must be appropriate for general audiences. They must not depict genital nudity, explicit sexual activity, hate symbols, or imagery that promotes, advocates, or causes harm.

Illegal and Inappropriate Content

We do not allow Member Content that appears or purports to contain, link to, or provide instructions for obtaining sexually explicit or suggestive photographic or photorealistic images of real children; malware, warez, cracks, hacks, or other executable files and their associated utilities; or trade secrets, restricted technologies, or other classified information.

Technical Integrity

Any conduct that threatens the operation of the Service is prohibited. Including technically misnamed files or Member Content (such as non-image files with an image file extension used to disguise their actual format) constitutes a threat to the technical integrity of the site.

Reservation

We reserve the right to delete, hide, or otherwise make any such Member Content violating these Guidelines unavailable.
